- Diagnosis | BPE and BOO
- Benign Prostatic Enlargement: BPE stands for Benign Prostatic Enlargement, which is the enlargement of the prostate gland due to increased cell numbers (hyperplasia). This enlargement can restrict the urethra, leading to bladder outlet obstruction (BOO) and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). The term "Boo" is sometimes used as an abbreviation for Bladder Outlet Obstruction.
- Grade-1 benign prostate hyperplasia or BPH is the initial stage of BPH. During BPH Grade 1, there is only slight enlargement of the prostate gland and the urinary symptoms related to it are minimal as well.
