Alternate cellulose for Paper Industries

Despite of wood being the cheapest raw material available today as a source of cellulose, wood has its own challenges in terms of raw material availability; fibre properties; complex processing steps. Fundamentally, paper requires cellulose polymer, which can be naturally available in species other than trees. For example microbes are promising source of organisms which can produce the cellulose with the right substrate.
