I am trying to answer Rani's question on, how did I get into Genetics. It is little funny to look back.
During the completion of B.Sc, unlike others, I was just eligible to apply for M.Sc, (My OGPA was dominated by 'D' & 'C's) . There is no course, I got 'A' to apply for M.Sc, except Seed technology. Although I know, I may not get M.Sc with my OGPA, I simply applied, as I believed that TNAU is a comfort zone instead of working out-side. The M.Sc application (Seed Tech) was submitted on the last day assuming that I may get because Seed Tech, in general is "less competitive". Post lunch, someone prompted, one can also apply for 2 courses (as plan B). While I was thinking, even if I submit second application for any course, I may not get through. However, friends suggested me to submit the second application and I decided, I may not get anything, just for fun, let me apply the "most competitive" one. Everyone undoubtedly said Genetics is the most competitive one and I decided to fill that subject (purely for fun) in the application, assuming I will anyway not get these courses.
Filled the application for genetics, took postal order and went to DR office and submitted (it was close to 4pm). In the office, they clearly denied my application saying, I missed the counter file, hence my postal order is not valid. Post office is already closed and I decided not to apply this and came back to room without submission. Senthil, while hearing this, he was asking me, where did you loose the counter file? I said, I forgot, may be in the post office.
