The plot was harvested during 2024 with loss of wood of 13.63 tons per acre, which amounts to Rs.637884 as per the market value during harvest. Of the total plantation of 9 acres, 80% was planted with commercial clones and 20% with R&D test clones. Further, PSPD has agreed to pay the the farmer on the 80% of the wood loss, which amounts to Rs.510307 and the remining 20% amounts to Rs.127577.

Further, PSPD has agreed to compensate the farmer for 80% of the wood loss, amounting to ₹5,10,307, while the remaining 20% (₹1,27,577) corresponds to the R&D test clones.

Historically, we have not paid compensation to the farmers on R&D Trials, but only the maintenance cost as a practice as agreed with the farmer during the inception. This particular plot was not agreed to pay any maintenance cost for testing new clones, however expericed severe damage. Being the progressive farmer in BCM and the damage witnessed on test clones, I request you to consider as an exceptional case and pay the 20% amount of Rs.127577 to the farmer.
Historically, we have not provided compensation to farmers for R&D trials, except for maintenance costs, as agreed upon during the project's inception. This specific plot was not eligible for maintenance cost reimbursement since it was intended for testing new clones. However, given the severity of the damage and the farmer’s progressive contributions to BCM, I request that this case be considered an exception and that the 20% compensation of ₹1,27,577 be granted to the farmer.

Going forward, we will not entertain such compensation payment, but only the maintenance cost on selective farmers as required.
Moving forward, we will not entertain such compensation payments, but will continue to provide maintenance cost reimbursements to select farmers as necessary.

One of the Eucalyptus plantations, established in August 2020, consisted of both commercial and R&D test clones and suffered severe wind damage in Aswapuram Mandal, Bhadradri Kothagudem. The farmer, Mr. Anananth Nani Suresh, has appealed for compensation of ₹8.64 lakhs for the 9-acre damaged plot. In collaboration with the PSPD team, we provided a letter advising him to wait four years to assess the restoration of the damaged plot.

The plantation was harvested in 2024, resulting in a wood loss of 13.63 tons per acre, amounting to ₹6,37,884 based on the market value at the time of harvest. Of the total 9-acre plantation, 80% was planted with commercial clones, while 20% consisted of R&D test clones. Further, PSPD has agreed to compensate the farmer for 80% of the wood loss, amounting to ₹5,10,307, while the remaining 20% (₹1,27,577) corresponds to the R&D test clones.

Moving forward, we will not entertain such compensation payments, but will continue to provide maintenance cost reimbursements to select farmers as necessary.
