Often I see this, "நாங்கல்லாம் அந்த காலத்துல..", not just with people around but predominantly in social media, particularly,
What Senthil had posted is not very different than this.
Before we get to the bottom of it, let us (also) accept the fact that population today is 10x more than 100 years back. Most issues that we talk today is because of this. Population raises the need. That compels for newer/dynamic technology. It warrants for competitiveness.
Having said that, now let's get back to couple of messages in those images,
- High Income -> Less Peace of Mind.
- Spurious correlation. High or Low is relative terms. Peace of mind has nothing to do with that. Peace of mind is a consequence of how one handles the life irrespective of income. எல்லா ஏழையும் சந்தோஷமாக இல்லை, எல்லா பணக்காரனும் வருத்தப்பட்டுக்கொண்டிருப்பதும் இல்லை.
- Landline united the family while mobile divided the family.
- Perceptional error. If a house has 1 entry/exit door, all will go through that, while the same house 5 doors, each one will take different doors. This does not mean that they are not united by heart. Landline or mobile is only a communication media. It is question of convenience. Mobile made it convenient. It did not divide the family.
- Lot of Humans, less humanity.
- 100 years back, the resources were plenty, while today, it is competitive. People with "high humanity" 100 years back were with surplus resources. Therefore the comparison of humanity is correct only when two groups of different time points with the similar resources.
- Orientation towards Free WIFI than free Book.
- I would say, it is a positive development. Earlier days, Book was the format of knowledge, but today, IOT, which more versatile, convenience and exponential. So I don't find that is wrong.
- Touched Moon, neighbors unknown.
- Again proportional issue. We had one neighbor 100 years back, but there are 100 neighbors (I meant the population raise). Among the 100 neighbors, we still keep one for support. Therefore nothing has changed.
- Lot's of friends in social media, but No Best Friends
- Fundamentally wrong. Social media (let's say, facebook) has many "connects". The "connects" are named and annotated as "Friends" by the software. But you and me know the true definition of a friend. However, it is often misinterpreted (including highly educated fellas) as, I have 1500 facebook "Friends", but no best friend. Therefore henceforth, don't blame, social media. Blame your interpretation of social media.
