In general, those who would like to

			learn dance, get there for passion / excitement, and to some extent, health, because it keeps body flexible.

			However, my exposure into this learning was slightly different. During Ph.D time, I fought with my parents (for a different reason) and stopped getting money (and/or any other resource). Therefore living became a challenge. Initial months were managed with friends' help, but as the time passes, the challenge, started hittng badly. Started zeroing down from accessories; entertainments; routines. Within 6 months, I was expeled out of hostel and stayed in friends home in Pudur and sometimes as a sneaky guest in Hostel. When food became a challenge, I started experiencing the brutality of பசி. பசிக்கிறதென்று நண்பர்களிடம் கூட சொல்ல முடியாமல், கடந்து சென்ற நாட்கள் / மாதங்கள், இன்னும் நினைவில். எப்படியாவது course முடித்துவிட வேண்டுமென்ற வெறி ஒருபுறமிருந்தாலும், குறைத்த பட்சம் ஒரு 600 ரூபாய் இருந்தால் மட்டுமே ஒரு மாதத்தை தள்ள முடியும் ( 20 per day ) என்ற நிலை.

			அப்போதுதான், அன்னபூர்ணா Hotel பின்புறம், ஒரு நடனமாடும் குழுவின் அறிமுகம் கிடைத்தது. அவர்களிடம், நானும் சேர்ந்துகொள்வதற்கான என் விருப்பத்தை தெரிவித்தேன். ஆடி காட்ட சொன்னார்கள். நான் எனக்கு தெரிந்ததை ஆடினேன். அனைவரும் சிரித்து, மறுத்து விட்டார்கள். அன்று இரவு, அவர்களின் rehearsal முழுவதையும் கவனித்தேன். It was "Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast" Hindi song. மறு நாள் இரவு, என்னால் முடிந்தவரை ஆடி காட்டினேன். என்னையும் குழுவில் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டார்கள். முதல் நடனம் காசுக்காக. அன்னபூர்ணாவின் இரண்டாவது மாடியில், இரவு 9 மணிக்கு. நடனத்தை விட, தெரிந்தவர்கள் யாரவது வந்து விட்டால், மானம் போய் விடுமே, என்ற பயம் ஒருபுறம். குழுவில், என்னை பின்னால் நிறுத்தியிருந்தார்கள். ஒரு வழியாக அந்த நிகழ்ச்சி நன்றாக முடிந்தது. நல்ல வேளை, தெரிந்தவர்கள் யாரும் வரவில்லை. நிகழ்ச்சியின் முடிவில் என் பங்கான Rs.750 கொடுத்தார்கள். அடுத்த மாதத்தை பசியின்றி சமாளித்து விடலாம் என்ற மகிழ்ச்சி ஒரு புறமிருந்தாலும், இது seasonal என்பதாலும், பயத்தினாலும், நடனம் மூலம் பணம் சேர்ப்பது எனக்கு practical-லாக படவில்லை.

			எனவே, அந்த முயற்சியை கை விட்டு விட்டேன். அதன் பின்னரே, ஒரு DTP சென்டர், புதூர் (கமலக்கண்ணன்) - ல், இரவில் மட்டும் வேலை செய்யும் ஒரு பணியில், என்னை ஈடுபடுத்திக்கொண்டேன்... உண்ணிகர் மெய்மதின் பல கிளை கதைகளில், இது ஒரு சிறு கிளை..!
